The Glénan archipelago, some fifteen kilometers offshore, is nicknamed the “Breton Caribbean” for its emerald-colored waters and white sandy beaches. Made up of seven main islands surrounded by numerous islets, this heavenly setting is a Natura 2000 site and home to the narcissus des Glénan, an endemic plant protected in a nature reserve on the island of Saint-Nicolas. Les Vedettes de l’Odet offers daily departures from Port-La-Forêt in July and August. Reservations recommended.
Nature walks and discoveries
The famous GR34 coastal footpath crosses the commune, taking you from Anse de Penfoulic to Anse Saint-Laurent along the coastline. These walks offer exceptional panoramic views over the bay of La Forêt, the cove where fresh and salt water mix, and the Glénan archipelago offshore.
