When it comes to historic sites, discover Fort du Loch, the seven chapels, and the blockhouses along the beaches… For hikers, explore the GR34 (customs officers’ trails—marked in red and white) as well as the unspoiled coastal trails. Guidel-Plages has something to delight the whole family!
Surf in Guidel
Nestled between land, sea, and river, enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of a seaside town just 15 minutes east of our campground, on the Morbihan side. Guidel-Plages boasts 5 kilometers of sandy beaches and just as many (if not more) surf spots. Well-known and highly regarded, Guidel has held a 2-star “Surf Town” designation since 2015 and is one of Brittany’s most popular surf spots.
You’ll have no trouble finding surf schools (West Surf Association – Yousurf – Ecole de surf de Bretagne) to help you get started or improve your surfing at various spots: La Falaise, Le Loch, Fort Bloqué, La Laïta, and more. It’s the perfect way to spend an unforgettable vacation right by the water. You’ll remember your stay at the campground for days packed with excitement like these.
Come relax in Guidel
For relaxing afternoons with the family, the beaches of La Falaise, Le Loch, Lannenec, and Pen Er Malo are patrolled by the SNSM during the summer. At Pen Er Malo Beach, a seahorse-shaped wheelchair is available free of charge for people with disabilities at the lifeguard station during the summer. At the end of the beaches, you’ll find the Guidel marina, where you can rent jet skis, stand-up paddleboards, canoes, and more.
Across the Laïta River, discover Le Pouldu (in the town of Clohars-Carnoët). On your way back to the campground, take a detour through Le Pouldu-Port to see Guidel-Plages from a different perspective while enjoying a drink on a terrace. From Le Pouldu, take the scenic route to enjoy the charming port of Doëlan, right next to the campground. End your day at our campground and its heated pool, open until 7:00 p.m.
