Three typical and picturesque ports await you just a few minutes from our campground, not to mention the charming port of Doëlan just 1.5 km away! It’s the perfect place to explore the region of Brittany and, more specifically, the charm of southern Finistère.
For fishing and food lovers, discover the port of Brigneau, a former sardine fishing port. It’s still home to a thriving coastal fishing industry. You can stock up on fresh fish there. As you stroll around, you’ll admire the renovated facade of the old Malachappe cannery. Today, it’s a marina where motorboats and sailboats set out for the day.
A little further on, surrounded by the Plaçamen Woods, the port of Merrien is dedicated to the farming and sale of oysters and shellfish. Heading along the right bank, you’ll see the old customs house, known as “Maison Houard,” which overlooks the sea. A bridge at the far end of the ria takes you to the left bank, where you’ll reach the port of Merrien and its producers. We recommend Kermagoret for your oysters and other seafood.
Home to the flat “Bélon” oysters and renowned among connoisseurs, the small port of Bélon can be explored from the oyster-farming river. The beauty of the riverbanks delights painters as well as nature lovers, who can explore the Bélon and the neighboring river, the Aven, by boat.
Relax in Moëlan-sur-Mer
For those who enjoy relaxing on the beach or water sports, take advantage of the fine-sand beaches just a few minutes from the campground.
For lovers of the beach, nature, and history, explore Trénez Beach and its island with a hole in it. You can still see the piers of a bridge that once connected two bunkers built by the Germans during World War II. Before you leave, look down at your feet—maybe some shrimp or small crabs will tempt you to try your hand at beachcombing.
Where the Aven and Belon rivers meet, you can relax on Kerfany Beach. This beach, which is patrolled by the SNSM (National Society for Sea Rescue) during the summer, is ideal for families, and children can also enjoy the playground.
