Quimperlé clearly has a wide variety of markets: food markets, night markets, summer markets, farmers’ markets, fairs and, of course, Christmas markets.

In the Quimperlé region of Finistère, you’ll find a wide range of products, thanks to the many craftsmen and women who keep the craft alive. Here’s the list of markets you’ll find…

Clohars-Carnoët is the commune in the Quimperlé area with the most markets.

First of all, every Saturday morning on Place de la Mairie, the market is open from 8am to 1pm. You’ll find all kinds of products, including olives, jams and other highlights.

Then, on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in July and August, the local producers’ and craftsmen’s market takes place on Place du Général de Gaulle, in the town center.

To continue the week, from mid-June to mid-September the Wednesday morning market in Le Pouldu welcomes you to the Tourist Office parking lot, facing the sea and the superb island of Groix.

Finally, in July and August, the night market takes over rue des Grands Sables in Le Pouldu every Sunday evening. Here you’ll find craftsmen selling souvenirs and other “home-made” products.

Quimperlé also stands out for its covered market. Built in 1886 by the Moreau brothers, this building is the historic heart of the town, bringing life to this city of art and history.

Under the covered market, you’ll find a number of retailers, including a fishmonger, a delicatessen and a greengrocer. The halls are open from 8:00 to 13:00 every day, depending on the opening hours of each shop.

In addition to the Halles, Quimperlé has two traditional markets. The first takes place on Friday mornings, on Place Saint-Michel in the upper town.

The second is on Place Hervo every Sunday morning, not far from the covered market. It’s the ideal place to find seasonal vegetables, artisan cheeses, crêpes and other products from local artisans.

These three towns in the north-west of the Quimperlé region are home to several large and small regional produce markets.

The commune of Scaër offers a market every Saturday morning on the Place de la Libération, in front of the town hall.

The town of Bannalec holds a weekly market every Wednesday morning in the town center. In addition, on the 2nd and4th Wednesday of each month, the “grand marché” takes place with more stallholders.

The commune of St-Thurien has a small market and flea market on the 2nd Sunday from March to October, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, in the Place du Centre. It’s also here, on the4th Sunday from March to October, that the local producers’ market takes place, starting at 9:00 am.

All these local markets offer farm produce, flea markets, local gastronomy and fresh artisanal produce. You’ll find organic producers with a passion for their craft, delighted to meet you on market days.

In the north-east of the Quimperlé region, 4 communes share the farmers’ market schedule to the delight of fresh produce lovers.

In Guilligomarc’h, shopkeepers set up shop every Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm in the Rue du Scorff parking lot.

In Arzano, market stalls are set up from 4.30pm to 7pm every Tuesday evening in the Place de la Mairie.

In Locunolé, every Thursday morning the square in front of the town hall is transformed into an open market and welcomes producers.

In Rédéné, you’ll find the weekly market behind the church from 4:30pm to 7:00pm every Friday evening.

Among all the markets in the Quimperlé area, you’ll also find festive and musical events, typical of the Breton atmosphere. Visit the market stalls of cheese makers, farmers and cosmetics producers to enjoy the festivities.

Finally, in the vicinity of Quimperlé, 4 communes offer a variety of markets to satisfy the taste buds of local residents.

The commune of Mellac, bordering the town of Quimperlé, holds a market every Wednesday morning at Ty Bodel.

The commune of Riec-sur-Belon holds a market twice a week, on the Place Yves Loudoux behind the Tourist Office: every Wednesday and Saturday morning.

The commune of Trévoux completes the list of markets thanks to its central square, opposite the town hall, where the market takes place every Friday evening from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm from May to October, and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm from November1.

Baye completes its weekly calendar with a market every Sunday morning in Rue Jean-Marie Carer.
