Douaniers trail (GR34)
The famous Sentier des Douaniers runs from Mont-Saint-Michel to Saint-Nazaire.
The section at Le Pouldu is particularly exciting, with its steep slopes, beautiful scenery and many surprises along the seafront.
Equipped with a good pair of sneakers, you’ll find the island of Groix in front of you, Lorient harbour on your left and the mouth of Aven-Bélon on your right.
On the cliffside, depending on weather conditions, the Atlantic Ocean is sure to provide some magnificent scenery.
Port du Pouldu
At the mouth of the Laïta river, you’ll find the charming port of Le Pouldu.
A marina, it’s the ideal setting for a relaxing stroll.
It’s just opposite the port of Guidel-Plages, in the Morbihan region of Brittany.
A ferry operator offers crossings to discover this other side of Brittany.
From the port of Le Pouldu, you can also take the GR34 footpath to Le Pouldu, where the main beaches are located.

What to see around Le Pouldu
Although Le Pouldu is a complete destination for a summer vacation, don’t forget to discover the other facets of South Brittany.

The ports and numerous Rias, such as Bélon or Doëlan, are waiting for you to enjoy a moment of peace and quiet.
- Pont-Aven: famous for its art school, art galleries, famous cookies and superb forest.
- Toulfoën forest: ideal for nature walks, whether on foot, on a run, on a bike, in a baby carriage or with your 4-legged friend.
- Concarneau: with its fortified Ville-Close and fishing port, it’s known as “Brittany’s little Mont-Saint-Michel”.
- Doëlan: a small, typically Breton port, often used as a backdrop for postcards, but where you can also find a wide range of fresh fish at the fish auction.
- Quimperlé Quimperlé: a charming historic town with its Sainte-Croix basilica and medieval streets, as well as its famous covered market.
- Guidel-Plages : a nearby seaside resort with beautiful beaches and surf spots, where you can spend a relaxing and peaceful time.
- Riec-sur-Bélon: famous for its oysters and the beauty of its estuary, you can also enjoy a walk in the forest.
A typical day at Le Pouldu
Your day begins at Flower Camping Le Kergariou, whether on your camping pitch or in your mobile home with covered terrace.
Take advantage of the fresh morning air to head for Le Pouldu, just 3km away, and for the more courageous, you can even get there by bike, using the facilities provided.
This morning will be the perfect opportunity to discover the world of the painters at the Maison-Musée Gauguin, where you will enter the former inn of Marie-Henry, who welcomed them.
For lunch, we suggest the Grand Bleu restaurant, a landmark of Pouldu life, or Mundo, offering world cuisine, facing Bellangenêt beach.
Afterwards, take a leisurely stroll along the coast following the GR34 trail, and you’re sure to enjoy the view and the moment.
On your return, relax on the beach of your choice, but we strongly recommend Bellangenêt for its convenience and safety.
Back at the campsite, end the day with a refreshing dip in the indoor heated swimming pool.
