The seaside resort of Le Pouldu located in Clohars-Carnoët has 3 fine sandy beaches: Les Grands Sables, Bellangenêt and Kérou, not forgetting its many creeks. Since 2009, the beaches of Clohars-Carnoët have been awarded the Blue Flag label.

Plage des Grands Sables, berceau de la station balnéaire
It was in 1850 that the first holidaymakers went swimming near the mouth of the Laïta. Thus, the Grands Sables beach, bordered by the dunes, became the cradle of the seaside resort of Le Pouldu. This is how the first villas were quickly built on the coast. At that time, the beach of Grands Sables became the playground for painters - like Gauguin - who stayed at the Buvette de la Page, which has now become the Maison-Musée du Pouldu. In a few years, hotels and holiday homes have made Le Pouldu an unforgettable destination in South Finistère.
Plage de Bellangenêt, pour toute la famille
Bellangenêt is THE fine sandy beach of choice. It is the largest beach in Le Pouldu, welcoming with open arms the many locals and holidaymakers in the summer season. It has been designed to meet the needs of all, such as supervised swimming (in July and August), access for people with reduced mobility and, of course, parking nearby. Its colours change with the rhythm of the tides and it will charm you with its unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean, especially on the heights, on the Douaniers path. It is here that you will find the Julien Quéré anchor, in memory of this trawler which sank in 1995 off Bellangenêt. This beach is a must for your family holiday in the South Finistère.
Plage du Kérou, la plage des sportifs
There is no doubt about the sporty destination of this beach, a real surfing spot in Southern Brittany, just like Guidel-plages in the Morbihan. Well known for its waves in tubes, comparable to those of the Basque country, the beach of Kérou is a must for surfers. On the beach it is a parade of water activities: surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, kayaking, paddle ... you will have understood it is THE meeting place for water sports. Clohars-Carnoët has clearly positioned itself as a sports destination by investing in its own water sports club to introduce young and old alike. In short, many fun and sporting activities are possible for holidaymakers.
Les criques, le long des sentiers
Do you prefer small beaches between land and sea? This is also the charm of holidays in Brittany. From the GR34, walk a few hundred metres to reach one of the many creeks along the coast. Beg An Tour near the Port of Doëlan, the Roche Percée from Porsac'h for the best known but the best ones are those you will discover yourself. Note however that swimming is not supervised.
